Bond information is especially easy to misread. Citizen Connect card styling includes bond information and bond amount fields, while the Houston County court record explains whether the bond was set, changed, revoked, forfeited, or tied to a later hearing. A bond-out is a release from jail. It is not the same thing as a dismissed case.

The tab structure matters because a person may be absent from Current Confinements but still appear under Releases by Date Range for a recent event.

Alabama's public-records baseline comes from Ala. Code Sections 36-12-40 and 36-12-41. The statute supports inspection and copying of public writings subject to exceptions and fees. The court file can show a bond order, dismissal, plea, sentence, probation order, revocation, no-bill entry, time-served sentence, or transfer-driving sentence. The court file explains whether the case remains pending, ended, or shifted to supervision.

ADOC Released Inmate Search
The Alabama Department of Corrections search is important for Houston County cases that become state-prison custody. It is not a complete historical release archive. ADOC states that its online inmate search contains only currently incarcerated inmates and that historical data is not available online. That statement should guide every ADOC lookup. If the person is not currently in ADOC custody, use ADOC records requests, parole records, court records, and notification history where applicable.

No separate official button labeled 72 hours was found. To check the last three days, set a custom date range for the past three calendar days, or use Last 7 days if a weekend, holiday, late-night release, or processing lag makes the exact window uncertain.
Release entries can lag the actual door-out time. Jail staff must complete release processing, and the public interface must refresh. VINELink and Alabama VNS are notification tools, not substitutes for the jail record. The Alabama VINELink page supports custody and criminal-case information with notification registration. Alabama VNS is narrower: it is for offenders convicted in Alabama and sentenced to ADOC custody, and it directs pretrial case questions to the sheriff in the county where the crime occurred.
Federal and immigration releases use separate systems. The BOP Inmate Locator covers federal inmates from 1982 forward. ICE ODLS covers current ICE custody and CBP custody over 48 hours. DHS-VINELink provides ICE custody notifications. USMS may appear in Houston County context as an arresting or transport agency, but USMS is not a public release-time or photo database. Houston County Release Facilities
Houston County release research begins with the county jail, but the facility map includes boundaries that prevent bad searches. Dothan Police is an intake and arrest-news source, not a separate long-term adult release list. The Southeast Alabama Diversion Center is a juvenile boundary and should not be treated as an adult public release search. ADOC and federal or ICE systems take over when the county jail event becomes a transfer.
